Symptoms
  • After running the Balance Update process the email is not triggering the user
  • Error message informed via debug logs: "FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, This balance record could not be deleted because it is of type Actual.: [c2g__Type__c]"
Environment

  • Version Winter 2026 SP4
  • Version Summer 2025 SP9
  • Version Spring 2026 SP1
Resolution
  • Upgrade to the version that contains the fix: Spring 2026 SP3
Cause
  • Known Certinia Financial Management Cloud issue
  • When accounts are merged, the system is designed to automatically move the live balance records for the merged accounts to the recycle bin during the "Update Balances" step. However, reporting balance records of type "Actual" are strictly read-only. The process is failing because is hitting this custom validation rule and is unable to bypass it to delete the old actual reporting balances
