Einstein Analytics allows some formatting options, most of which you wouldn't know about until you were told about them, in a video perhaps. With this functionality you can do some of the following:

• Set decimal places
• Set negative number format
• Set a thousand separator
• Set decimal separators (good for different locals)
• Set if it is a percentage
• Set a currency symbol (only $ currently)

When it comes to viewing numerical data, different companies have different requirements. Some may want to see to 2 decimal places, others may want to see it rounded to the nearest thousand or even millions.
