Bite Size Analytics: How to Embed Dashboards on Page Layouts

Procedure

There are many ways that assets from CRM Analytics can be accessed.

  • Analytics Studio App
  • Analytics tab
  • Embedded within a layout

There is no better way to put CRM Analytics in the hands of your users than having it directly embedded within a page layout. This, of course, means that users will need an Analytics license to view but depending where you embed you can present context filtered views. With some of our dashboards, we have designed specific layouts that are more tailored to an embedded experience; this is something that Salesforce recommends as an approach if you're building your own. Although every dashboard can be embedded, this allows the style to differ and blend in with the lightning experience. One example from our PSA Analytics Spring 20 release is our Project Burnup Dashboard, which is outlined in the short video below.
