ProcedureHelp ProcedureTo achieve the above you will need to: read this documentcomplete the exercises contained within it This workbook, when followed, will enable you to get the most out of FRB and quicken both your understanding of the tool and thus facilitate your adoption of it. The exercises are based around basic financial statements of Income Statement, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet. The intention is that this will allow you to quickly build a simple statement for each type and then progress to more advanced options. Exercise Notes & Recommendations The exercises are deliberately ‘non-guided’, however, at the end of this document are screenshots showing ‘how to complete the exercises’ if you get stuck. We would advise that you don’t peek into these unless you do get stuck and need a clue as to what to do next. The exercises in this book are deliberately ‘data agnostic’ thus enabling you to use any org (sandbox or production) that you have access to and see your own data. If you feel any of the exercises are unclear or ambiguous then please let us know and we can modify them accordingly. Within this booklet the acronym FRB is used as shorthand for Financial Report Builder.Income Statement and Balance Sheets within your org, based on out of the box reports, have been built using the Financial Transactions dataset. For ease it is recommended that when using this workbook you use the Financial Transactions dataset for all your statements. The primary reason to use the Balances dataset is where you want to report on budget values. When using the Balances dataset you must remember to add a filter to all your Income Statement and Balance Sheet lenses of balance type = actual and one of budget. In Analytics Bytes there is a specific workbook governing how to build lenses. Users who are unfamiliar with building lenses are advised to go through these bytes first. The exercise book can be found here. A video guide can be found below ObjectiveHelp ObjectiveTo ensure your success when using our Financial Report Builder tool we have put together an exercise book. This exercise book will provide you with: the benefits of using FRB;an understanding of the architecture of FRB;an ability to create new reports and modify existing ons;an appreciation of all the features and functions that form FRB as at summer 22;hints and tips on how to create reports efficiently and effectively.A reference guide which you can dip back into when you’ve forgotten something.
