The analytics platform has lots of little hidden features that are not obvious to many users, but once you know them, they exist they are straightforward to use. One such feature is the ability to rename fields. Common reasons for this include giving better descriptions to fields, renaming them to match those in your system, changing the default name provided when building your own datasets. Renaming within a dataset also updates any dashboards and reports that use. You can rename text, numbers, and dates.
