Error Message: "Object validation has failed. Object validation has failed. Transaction failed to post. Journal Id aXXXXXXXXX: The transaction does not balance in dual currency."

An error message stating that a transaction failed to post and does not balance in dual currency may occur when posting a journal. This error is caused when the "Override Dual Value" on all journal lines does not balance to zero. To resolve this, the override values should be reviewed and adjusted to ensure their sum is zero. Once the values balance, the journal will post.

  • Post Journal
  • Error Message received: "Object validation has failed. Object validation has failed. Transaction failed to post. Journal Id aXXXXXXXXX: The transaction does not balance in dual currency."

Resolution
  • Make sure all Override Dual Value balance to 0
  • User may need to create a report for Journals with Journal Line items, expose Override Dual Value field and summarise it
  • If all lines have Override Dual Value populated and the sum is 0, open a support case with Certinia
  • If all lines have Override Dual Value populated and the sum is not 0, review the override values and adjust them so they balance to 0. Then the Journal will post smoothly

  • The Override Dual Value on all Journal Lines does not balance to 0
