FAM: Error Message: "Unable to dispose of the asset. Attempt to de-reference a null object" When Disposing A Fixed Asset If Date In service Field Is Empty

An error stating, "Unable to dispose of the asset. Attempt to de-reference a null object," may occur when disposing of a fixed asset. This error is caused by a missing value in the "Date In Service" field. To resolve this issue, populate the "Date In Service" field before attempting to dispose of the asset.

  2. Ensure Date In Service field is empty or empty it yourself
  3. Enter Disposal information and click on Dispose 
  4. Error Message: "Unable to dispose of the asset. Attempt to de-reference a null object"

  • Populate Date In Service field
  • Dispose the Fixed Asset
Cause
  • Date In Service field is required for disposal process.
