FAM: How To Add Depreciation Method Records That Have Not Been Created

This document outlines how to add missing Depreciation Method records. The records can be created manually by entering specific Depreciation Method Name and Calculation Class pairs. For users on FAM versions Winter 22 or later, running the Feature Console for FAM Depreciation Methods Install/Upgrade is an alternative option. These records are typically created during a post-installation step, and their absence may indicate an issue with that process.

  1. Depreciation methods are in the FAM package, the Depreciation Method records are created in a post install step that runs automatically after the FAM package has been installed 
  2. If the Depreciation Method records have not been created, then something may have gone wrong during that post installation step 
Procedure
  • Multiple options
  1. Create the Depreciation Methods manually
    1. Go to the Depreciation Methods tab
    2. Click New
    3. Enter one of following Depreciation Method Name and corresponding Calculation Class pairs > click Save. Continue until all have been added. 
Depreciation Method Name - Calculation Class 
  1. Enter "Double Declining Balance" - "FAM.DM_Declining_Balance"
  2. Enter "Straight Line"                      - "FAM.DM_StraightLine"
  3. Enter "Sum of the Years Digits"     - "FAM.DM_Sum_of_the_Years_Digits" 
  4. Enter "Units of Production"            - "FAM.DM_Units_of_Production"
  5. Enter "150% Declining Balance"   - "FAM.DM_Declining_Balance_150"

  1. For Fixed Assets Management (FAM) versions Winter 22 (2022.1) or later 
    1. Run the Feature Console FAM Depreciation Methods Install/Upgrade step, if it exists. 
    2. Otherwise, create the Depreciation Methods manually (see above)
