FAM: How To Create A Fixed Asset Report with Schedules and the Depreciation GL Account Name

A Fixed Asset report can be created to include Schedules and the Depreciation GL Account Name. This involves creating a custom report type. Procedure
  • If some of the the Depreciation Accounts are available only in the Asset Group records and not available in the Fixed Asset records, then: 
  • Create a custom report type to show that includes Fixed Assets, Depreciation Book, Depreciation Schedules and Depreciation GLA Account
  1. Verify that Fixed Assets is turned on in the org
  2. Click Setup > Click Report Types
  3. Click New Custom Report Type
  4. Select Primary Object of "Fixed Assets"
  5. Enter the Report Type Label of "Fixed Asset Depreciation Book Schedules with Asset Group"
  6. Click Tab to populate Report Type Name
  7. Enter the Description of "Fixed Asset Depreciation Book Schedules with Asset Group"
  8. For Store in Category select "Other Reports"
  9. For Deployment Status select "Deployed"
  10. Click Next
  11. Under Primary Object click Click to relate another object 
  12. In the B box, use the Select Object drop down to choose "Depreciation Book"
  13. Select Each "A" record must have at least one related "B" record 
  14. In the box below click Click to relate another object) 
  15. In the C box, use the Select Object drop down to choose "Depreciation Schedules"
  16. Select  Each "A" record must have at least one related "B" record
  17. Click Save
  18. Under 'Fields Available for Reports', click Edit Layout
  19. Under  'View', select Fixed Assets Fields, click Add fields related via lookup
  20. Select Asset Group > Select All > OK > Save
  21. Go to the Reports tab > New Report > Report type enter the name of this report type to access the Asset Group and the Depreciation Accounts
