AC: Can the Taxpayer Identification Number field on the Account be Encrypted with Salesforce Encryption?

The Taxpayer Identification Number field on an Account cannot be converted directly into an encrypted field. To encrypt this data, a new encrypted field must be created. The data must then be migrated from the original field to the new encrypted field.

  • Custom fields cannot be converted into encrypted fields.
  • To have this field Encrypted with Classic Encryption,
  1. user would need to create the field as an Encrypted field,
  2. then move the data from their old field to their new field.
