AC: Error Message: “This operation is not valid in multiple company mode” when Trying to Post Documents for Multiple Companies

An error stating "This operation is not valid in multiple company mode" occurs when attempting to post journals for multiple companies in Certinia Accounting Spring 2019. This functionality is not available in that version. The ability to post journals in multi-company mode was introduced in the Fall 2021 release. Similar updates for other document types were planned for subsequent releases.

  1. User has uploaded "In Progress" Journals for multiple companies
  2. On posting, an error is received:
"This operation is not valid in multiple company mode"
or "Object validation has failed. The operation cannot be performed in multi-company mode
Upload failed"
 
Resolution
  • It is not possible to post Journals in multi company mode in Spring 2019
  • From Fall 2021 there are changes to allow Journals to post in multi company mode
  • For Sales Invoices/Sales Credit Notes this is planned for Spring 2022
  • For Payable Invoices/Payable Credit Notes there are plans to change this in Fall 2022
