AC: How to Add Dimensions to the Analysis Lines of a Posted Cash Entry

This document outlines the procedure for adding or amending Dimensions 1 through 4 on a posted Cash Entry. The steps cover modifications for the Bank Account General Ledger Account, the Bank Charges GLA, and the Account Lines. Users must navigate to the posted Cash Entry and use the "Amend Document" function to make these changes. It is necessary to ensure the "Enable Edit Dimensions (after posting)" setting is active in Accounting Settings.

  • If trying to amend Dimensions on a posted document, check within Setup > Custom Settings > click Manage against Accounting Settings (FF) and make sure setting Enable Edit Dimensions (after posting) is also ticked
Procedure
  • Below are the steps to add the Dimension(1-4) for the Bank Account General Ledger Account:
    1. Go to the posted Cash Entry and click on Classic Edit or Classic View > Amend Document
    2. Click on the arrow next to the Bank Account field to expand the Dimensions for that field (see screenshot), make the necessary changes and click Save

  • Below are the steps to add the Dimension(1-4) for the General Ledger Account associated to the Bank Charges GLA:
    1. ​Go to the posted Cash Entry and click on Classic Edit or Classic View > Amend Document
    2. Click on the arrow next to the Bank Charges GLA field to expand the Dimensions for that field (see screenshot)
    3. Make the necessary changes and click Save

  • Below are the steps to add the Dimension(1-4) for the 'Account Lines':
    1. ​Go to the posted Cash Entry and click on Classic Edit (if in Extended Edition) or Classic View > Amend Document
    2. Click on the arrow next to the Account Line in question to expand the Dimensions for that field
    3. Add/amend the Dimension(1-4) values as necessary and click Save​
