Multiple Error Messages for Apex Class Access After Upgrade

After an upgrade, users may experience Apex Class Access errors within the Project Management Workspace. This issue occurs because custom permission sets are not updated during managed package upgrades. To resolve this, assign the "PSA - Workspaces - Project Management" permission set to the affected users. Alternatively, the necessary Apex Classes can be added to the custom permission sets.

Resolution
  1. Assign the affected users the PSA - Workspaces - Project Management Permission Set
  2. Confirm that the Apex Class Access errors no longer occur
Cause
  • Custom permission sets cannot be updated with Managed Packages upgrades and services packs. 
Additional Notes
  • Adding the Permission Sets for the Workspace that are part of the Managed Package is the easiest and quickest solution
  • Alternatively, all the related Apex Classes can be added to the custom Permission Sets
