PSA: Error Message: "Multi-currency Conversion Error: Valid exchange rates not found for currencies and/or dates specified"

An error message regarding a multi-currency conversion may occur when saving a timecard. This error can be caused by a currency mismatch between the project and assignment records. It may also result from an expired currency conversion rate effective date. To resolve the issue, the PSA currency should be deleted and recreated with a retroactive effective date.

Symptoms
  • When a user attempts to save a timecard the below error message appears on the Time Entry UI page
    • "Error Message: "pse.AssignmentTrigger: execution of BeforeUpdate caused by: xxxxxxx_core.XxxxxxxXxxxxxxxx: Multi-currency Conversion Error: Valid exchange rates not found for currencies and/or dates specified. 0000-00-00 00:00:00 USDWorking with conversion rates as follows: currencyCodes = {EUR}, dates = {0000-00-00 00:00:00}, conversionRatesByDate = {0000-00-00 00:00:00={EUR=0.000000}} (xxxxxxx_core) : [] (pse) : []. No timecards were saved. Please fix your timecards and try again."
  • Use_Salesforce_Advanced_Multi_Currency in Currencies Configuration Group set to "true"
  • Use_Dated_Exchange_Rates in Currencies Configuration Group set to "true"
  • Dated exchange rates set up in salesforce currency
  • Salesforce Advanced Currency Management enabled in org

Resolution

The Currency field on the project is set to "EUR" but the Currency field on the assignment is set to "USD".

To resolve:

  1. Delete the PSA Currency
  2. Recreate the PSA Currency
  3. Retroactively date the Effective Date field
Cause
  • The project and assignment records are in different currencies
  • The Currency Conversion Rate Effective Date value is past the new transaction date
