PSA: Error Message: "You do not have access to the Apex Class named 'wksp_navigation'" when using PSA Workspaces

An error message stating, "You do not have access to the Apex Class named 'wksp_navigation'" may appear when accessing PSA Workspaces. This is due to a defect where certain managed permission sets lack the necessary Apex Class access. The issue is resolved by upgrading to Summer 2021 or a higher version. A workaround involves creating and assigning a new permission set with the required Apex Class access.

Symptoms
  • Error Message: "You do not have access to the Apex Class named 'wksp_navigation'" when accessing one of the PSA workspaces
Resolution
  1. This known issue is fixed Summer 2021 and higher. Open new support case requesting Onboarding to upgrade the organization
    1. After upgrade, assign Permission Set "Certinia Configurable Components" to affected Users
  2. Workaround:
    1. Go to Setup
    2. Select Permission Sets 
    3. Select New
    4. Add the desired name in the Label field, like "PSA - Other Workspace Access" 
    5. Select Apex Class Access
    6. Select Edit
    7. In the 'Available Visualforce Pages' section select "fferpcore.wksp_api" value
    8. Use the Arrow button to move the selection to the 'Enabled Visualforce Pages' section
    9. Select Save 
    10. Assign the custom Permission Set to the affected Users
Cause
  • Defect
  • Note: Users will also need permission set: "FF ApexClassAccess" as part of their permission sets to access Apex Class functionality.
  • The managed ‘PSA - Workspaces - Services Delivery’ Permission Set does not have "fferpcore.wksp_api" Apex Class value set to "true"
  • The managed ‘PSA - Workspaces - Services Revenue Forecasting’ Permission Set does not have "fferpcore.wksp_api" Apex Class value set to "true"
  • Apex class error could also occur for other apex classes such as psaws.wksp_navigation, psaws.wksp_api, fferpcore.wksp_api or similar
