PSA Error: "Timecard Header may not be inserted or changed if its Assignment is Closed for Time Entry"

An error can occur when attempting to modify a timecard if its associated assignment is closed for time entry. To resolve this, the "Closed for Time Entry" setting on the assignment must be unchecked. This will allow for the approval or deletion of the timecard. The setting can be re-enabled afterward if no further time logging is required for that assignment.

Symptoms

The following error message occurs when attempting to delete a Timecard:

"Timecard Header may not be inserted or changed if its Assignment is Closed for Time Entry"

Resolution

Perform the the following on the Assignment that is associated with the Timecard:

  1. Uncheck the Closed for Time Entry checkbox
  2. Approve the Timecard or delete it if not needed
  3. Go back to the Assignment and check the Closed for Time Entry checkbox if time logging to assignment is no longer required
Cause

The Closed for Time Entry was checked on the assignment.
