PSA: How to Export/Import Configuration Settings Between Environments

Configuration settings can be exported from one environment as an XML file. This file is then imported into another environment through the Static Resources and PSA Administration tabs. Importing the file with the "Replace All Values from File" option selected will replace the current configuration. This action also creates a backup of the previous configuration.

Procedure
  • How to export configuration settings:
    1. Go to All Tabs > PSA Administration
    2. Click Export Configuration
    3. In the second box, enter an email address to email to configuration to and click Email me this file
    4. Find the email and save the file to your computer
  • How to import configuration settings:
    1. Go to Setup > Static Resources
    2. Select New
    3. Name the file "PSAConfigXML" (NOTE: it must be named this or the file will not show up in the Import Configuration picklist)
    4. Select Choose File and upload the saved file from your computer
    5. Save
    6. Go to All Tabs > PSA Administration
    7. Select Import Configuration
    8. In the first picklist, select the PSAConfigXML file
    9. Select the Replace All Values from File checkbox (Note: If you import the configuration with the Replace All Values from File checkbox selected, the current configuration is backed up to the Configs folder on the Documentation tab.)
    10. Click Import Configuration
