Update the Name, edit the Practice name to include a clear prefix like [INACTIVE] or [DO NOT USE] (e.g., [INACTIVE] North American Consulting). This immediately flags to users in lookups that they should stay away from it. Adjust the Hierarchy if this is a sub-practice, consider moving it under a dedicated "Archived" parent Practice to keep your views clean.2. Clean Up Active Records. Th reason for this is that a Practice stays active in your system as long as things are tied to it. You will want to migrate any ongoing data, by this I am referring toa. Projects: Update any active or tentative projects mapped to the old Practice, routing them to the correct active one.b. Resources: Update the Practice field on your active resource (Contact) records so future schedules and utilization roll up correctly elsewhere.3. Hide it from Users via Admin Configuration to keep your team from selecting it by accident, your Salesforce Administrator can adjust the Lookup Filters or Search Filters on the Project and Resource objects. By adding a rule that filters out any Practice name containing [INACTIVE], it will effectively disappear from day-to-day dropdown menus.Additional NotesHelp Additional NotesCertinia official documentation lists deletion as the only way to completely remove a Practice however we highly advise against deleting it if it has any historical data attached. Deleting a Practice can corrupt or erase past financial transactions and timecard metrics
