PSA: Is it Possible to Remove the Self-Assignment Link from the Time Entry UI?

It is not currently possible to remove the Self-Assignment link from the Time Entry UI. A workaround is to mark the "Allow Self Staffing" field on all projects as false. This prevents users from self-assigning, as they will receive an error stating no projects are available. Other options include renaming the link text or removing the schedule grid from the UI entirely.

Answer
The ability to completely remove the Self-Assignment link on the Time Entry UI is not currently available.
  • A possible workaround is marking the Allow Self Staffing field on all projects as false. The Self-Assignment link will still be available to the resource on in Time Entry UI, but the resource will now receive the following error from the Self-Assignment: "Error: No projects available for self-assignment."
Additional Notes
  • It may be possible to create an English-to-English, or for other languages, translation of this by going to the label and creating translations and changing the text to “Do not use self-assignment.”
    • Note: that this will only rename the value displayed rather than remove it.
  • Another alternative would be to remove the Schedule grid from the Time Entry UI altogether by unchecking the Show Schedule grid checkbox in "Timecard Entry UI Personal" Custom Setting (in Setup).
