PSA: Services Product Field Values are Null When Using Add Milestone From Template

When adding milestones to a project from a template, the Services Product field may have null values. This occurs because the Services Product field is not included in the "Add Milestones from Template" Field Set on the Project object. To resolve this, one must add the Services Product field to the appropriate Field Set.

Symptoms

  • When attempting to add milestones from a template to a project, the Services Product field does not copy over to the project milestones, resulting in null values

  • This issue occurs specifically when navigating to a project and using Actions > Add Milestone From Template

Environment
  • Professional Services Cloud
  • Summer 2025 
Resolution

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager

  2. Select the Project object 

  3. Click Field Sets

       4. Select the Add Milestones from Template on Project Field Set 

       5. Drag and drop the Services Product field into the Field Set

       6. Click Save

Cause
  • The Services Product field was not included in the Field Set used by the Add Milestones from Template action on the Project object. Because this field was missing from the Field Set, its value could not carry over from the template milestone to the newly created project milestone.
