PSA: Timesheet Entry Button Redirects to Managed Package Timesheet Entry Instead of Custom Page

When attempting to open a Custom Timesheet Entry tab, a user may be redirected to the managed package Timesheet Entry Page. This occurs when the Custom Page API name is not listed in the "Open in Quick Action page" field. To resolve this, navigate to Timecard Global UI Custom Settings and replace the default API name with the 'Custom Sheet Entry API' name in the "Open in Quick Action Page" field.

Symptoms
  • This issue occurs when attempting to open the Custom Timesheet Entry tab but is redirected back to the managed package Timesheet Entry Page
Environment

Resolution
  1. Go to Setup  
  2. In Quick Find, search "Custom Settings"
  3. Select Timecard Global UI Custom Settings > Manage > Default
  4. Replace the API name with 'Custom Sheet Entry API' name in Open in Quick Action Page
  5. Click Save
Cause
  • The error occurs due to not listing the Custom Page API name in the Open in Quick Action page field
  • The quick action field has Open in Timesheet Entry API by default
