PSA: Utilization Detail Records Created After Resource is Terminated

Utilization Detail records may be created for a resource after their termination date. This occurs when running utilization calculations from a Region, Practice, or Group. To prevent this, the Historical Utilization Start Date must be set to at least one day after the resource's Last Date. If the start date is before the resource's last date, utilization records will be generated for all future time periods.

  • Resource record has Is Resource Active marked false and Last Date field populated
  • Use Last Date on Resource field under Utilization Custom Setting is marked true

Resolution

When running utilization from Region, Practice or Group, the Historical Utilization Start Date field must be at least one day past the Last Date field value on the resource record. If the Historical Utilization Start Date is before the Last Date field value on the resource record, utilization detail records will be created for all time periods moving forward even though the resource is terminated.
