• Work planner always keeps dates constant when users are contouring scheduled hours within an assignment
• Users cannot pin a resource in work planner (functionality similar to this is available on the Resource Request allocation view where staffing is available)
• It is not possible to expand and collapse all rows in work planner
• It is not possible to search for a resource by name from main UI
  • Note: this is possible via the filter in work planner
• It is not possible to schedule a repeatable, working pattern for an existing schedule in work planner (no ‘south pane’ type functionality)

• • Support for 2 different strategies when doing this via lab option. 1 of these is the same behaviour as resource planner. The other option shifts the dates but keeps the shape of the work. This is more similar to dragging the bar in the scheduler view. 
• Static filtering options in resource work planner to prevent the user from editing what resources are returned.
  • This enables resource planner to be a better fit for resources where they can only see and get to their own schedule. They can then edit their schedule and no one elses. 
• Better support for keeping the view when you save the work planner.
• Support for tabbing through cells and editing the values.
• Improved performance and scale at high volumes of records. 
• The left hand columns are configurable to hide or show columns and these user preferences are saved in local storage.

• Saved filtersets are stored globally so that admin users can set up a org wide default option for the work planner users. This should enable better adoption as admin is able to set up the initial load screen. 
• Support for multi-select picklist values in the filter so for example a user could filter by multiple resource roles simultaneously.
• Support for showcasing shortlisted resources vs the requests that they are shortlisted against
  • Configurable in the filtering options
  • Configurable which statuses are returned in the UI
• Month view edits to copy the previous months schedule to the future months.
• Make the whole view % based. Users can then reschedule resource based on the % hours of the resource work calendar. This works in month, week and day view. 
• Contextual create assignment modal. The modal will grab the information from the row that is selected in order to pre-populate as many values as possible to make the user more efficient. If a resource is selected it will grab the resource information. If a assignment is selected the modal will grab the project and the assignment and it is similar to cloning.
• Contextual create resource request modal. The modal will grab the information from the row that is selected. If a resource is selected the suggested resource field will populate. If the project is selected then the project information will auto-populate the resource request view.
• Work Planner better respects salesforce sharing settings and will only show the records that are shared with the user. This change brings the component more inline with how Salesforce handle this in their UIs

This list is not to suggest these things will not get done in the future just that we are not currently targeting improvements here for Summer 24. Some of this is because we haven’t heard any importance of this functionality from customers.

• Surfacing project tasks as part of the assignment panel means that customers using task-based resourcing can understand the implication of any changes made in the grid.
