PSA: Why Does Mass Billing Event Generation Create Separate Billing Events For Timecards Across Different Time Periods?

Mass billing event generation creates separate billing events by design. The system uses Account, Project, and Time Period values to group timecards. A workaround is to use the Combine button to override the time period restriction. This action requires a Perpetual Time Period to be set up to avoid an error.

  • Yes, this is an expected behavior. Account, Project, and Time Period are the values that are used for creating separate Billing Events.

 

Additional Notes

As a workaround, customer can use the Combine button to override the Time Period restriction

  • When Billing Events are combined across multiple Time Periods then the Time Period assigned to the new Billing Event is All Time Periods
  • If an org does not have a Perpetual Time Period setup then the combine process will throw an error.
