PSA: Why Doesn't Skill and Certification Lookup Display All The Skills and Certifications Created?

The Skill and Certification lookup search may not display all available items. This is a known limitation where the search initially shows five results after typing three characters. Users may need to enter more characters to find the desired result. Additionally, if Skill/Certification Zones are not configured, the "Disregard-Skill-Zones" configuration option should be set to true.

  • Why doesn't the Skill and Certification lookup search display all the Skills and Certifications created?

  • Answer 1
  • The Lookup search will not display the Skills and Certifications (known Salesforce limitation)
  • The display of 5 results is by default after typing the first 3 letters of the Skill or Certification.  Users many need to type more characters to get the desired result.

  1. If no Skill/Certification Zones are setup, check the Configuration Option Disregard-Skill-Zones in the Configuration Group - Skills Entry
  2. If false change to true
