SCM-SC: How is the Prorated Billing Amount Calculated?

The Prorated Billing Amount is calculated by multiplying a daily rate by the remaining days in the current term and the quantity. This formula determines charges from the effective date of a Change Request until the end of the current term. Prorated charges are not always more expensive than regular charges.

  • How is the Prorated Billing Amount calculated?
Answer
  • The Prorated Billing Amount on the Change Request Line is a calculation of a daily rate * the remaining days in the current term * the quantity.
  • This formula will cover any charges incurred starting from the effective date of the Change Request until the end of the current Semi-Annual Term. That is, the system does not charge less but more than a regular term since it's prorate. 
  • Prorating (Prorated Billing Amount) isn't always more expensive than regular monthly charges because it depends on the company that handles it.
