Why did we Receive a Notification About "Send Session ID" for Outbound Messages?

Salesforce is removing the inclusion of Session IDs in Outbound Message notifications to enhance security. After the February 2026 deadline, workflows using the "Send Session ID" feature will no longer receive the ID in the SOAP message payload. This change affects legacy Salesforce-Slack integration components. If this legacy integration is not in use, no action is needed.

Answer
  • Salesforce is phasing out the inclusion of Session IDs in Outbound Message notifications to harden platform security. Any workflow or process using Outbound Messages with the "Send Session ID" checkbox enabled will no longer receive that ID in the SOAP message payload after the February 2026 deadline.

  • If the legacy Salesforce-Slack integration is not in use, no further action is required.
  • If the legacy Salesforce-Slack integration is in use, then it may be necessary to transition to the modern Salesforce Slack app or an OAuth-based connection
